Year 2014

According to the seventh Crystal Ball Sell-Side Analysts Awards launched by Capital Week in mid-November 2013, SWS ranked first among the Most Influential Research Teams and Most Independent Research Teams; second in Best Events and Conferences and Best Roadshow and Company Visits; third in Most Innovative Research Institution and Best Research Team Leader (awarded to Chen Xiaosheng) and fifth in Best Sales Service Team and Best China Research Team. As for industrial research, SWS ranked first in papermaking and printing, basic chemical engineering and alternative energy; second in bond research and food and beverage; third in macroeconomics, agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery as well as coal mining; forth in the strategy research and achieved the shortlist award for textile and apparel, biology, construction, engineering, technology, wholesale and retail.


According to StarMine's Analyst Awards (China and Hong Kong SAR) results released on November 2013, SWS Research was awarded China's Best Brokerage. In particular, Deng Jian (Investment Goods) gained first place in the Best Earnings Estimators in the energy and chemical engineering sector and was ranked in the top ten Comprehensive Earnings Forecast. In addition, Luo Ying (Consumer Goods) was awarded first place in the Best Earnings Estimators in the pharmaceutical sector and Sun Ting (Tertiary sector) was awarded third place in Best Earnings Estimators in the insurance sector. As for stock selection accuracy, Shi Ming (Overseas Research) was awarded second place in the pharmaceutical sector; Zhang Lu (Manufacturing) reached second place in the information technology and durable goods sector and Wan Jianjun (Manufacturing) achieved third place in the consumer discretionary sector.


According to the Best Analyst Poll conducted by Wind Information released on 5 November 2013, SWS Research received 31 research team awards including first place in financial engineering, fixed-income research, food and beverage, papermaking and printing, coal mining, basic chemical engineering, non-metal construction materials, electrical equipment and alternative energy, biological and telecommunication; second place in macroeconomics, strategy research, agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery, textile and apparel, petrochemical engineering, steel, nonferrous metal, utility, construction and engineering, technology equipment, internet finance and banking; third place in home appliance, transport and storage and communication and culture; fourth place in automobile, wholesale and retail and fifth place in real estate, electronics and social services.


According to 2013 Gold Bull Analyst held by the China Securities Journal on 9 November 2013, SWS Research was ranked first in the Best Local Research Team and received 13 research team awards including first place in new materials, agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery, chemical engineering and light manufacturing; second place in macroeconomics, third place in fixed-income, electronics, mining, textile and apparel; fourth place in energy, construction materials and commercial trade and fifth place in investment strategy research.


According to Best Analyst Ranking launched by China Business Network in June 2013, SWS Research ranked first in the Best Sell-Side Research Institution; second in the Best Sell-Side Capital Investment Research and Sell-Side Sales Service Institution and fifth in the Best Overseas Market Research Institution. In addition, Chen Xiaosheng was awarded the Best Sell-Side Team Leader. SWS Research ranked first in macroeconomics, fixed-income, food and beverage, papermaking and printing and basic chemical engineering; second in strategy research, financial engineering and derivatives, agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery, coal mining, construction and engineering and cultural communications; third in electronics and biology; forth in petrochemical engineering, machinery equipment, technology equipment, information technology and real estate and fifth in textile and apparel, non-metal construction materials, nonferrous metal and utilities (such as the delivery of electro-dynamic water).
According to 2012 Finance Reform Result launched by the Shanghai Financial Association in May 2013, SWS Research’s two reports including the Competition Evaluation of the Shanghai Municipal Government Owned Brokerages (Jiang Jianrong) and Experience and Inspiration of the Shanghai International Board Development (Qian Kangning), ranked third in the futures analysis reports.
According to the Wall Street Journal’s 2012 Asia’s Best Analyst awards, two analysts of SWS Research were on the list (out of 10 listed mainland Chinese analysts).

By the end of this October, the StarMine World's Top Analysts Awards 2012, which was organized by StarMine (under Thomson Reuters), was revealed. SWS Research ranked the 1st on the “Most Award-Winning Research Team” list in Asia. Ten analysts with SWS Research were granted awards.


In this November, the “Asiamoney Brokers Poll 2012” announced SWS as the 2nd “Best Analyst” in the Hong Kong Region, and it also won the 1st prize of Capital Goods Research in Hong Kong area.


In this November, the “New Fortune” announced the results of the “10th Best Analysts Poll” in Shenzhen. SWS Research, as a group, took the crown of the “Most Influential Research Team”, the 2nd “Best Domestic Research Team”. As for the “Best Analysts” awards in thirty-one research sectors, SWS Research was granted five 1st prizes in the sectors of Macro economy research, strategy research, food & beverage, and light industry.

According to the latest 2011 annual fund report, commission income received by SWS continued to be ranked no. 1 amongst all brokers.

By the end of this October, the FT/StarMine World's Top Analysts Awards 2010, which was jointly organized by the “Financial Times” and StarMine (under Thomson Reuters), was revealed. SWS Research ranked the 1st on the “Most Award-Winning Research Team” list in Hong Kong and Mainland . Ten analysts with SWS Research were granted awards.


According to the 2010 interim reports of the fund management firms, SWS has once again won the top ranking among all securities companies regarding commissions on services for fund management companies in 2010. Statistics show, in the first half of 2010, SWS has obtained RMB 192M commissions on fund services, with a market share of 6.98%.


On May 26, 2010, the results of the “2009 Research Themes Competition” held by the Securities Association of China were unveiled, and SWS Research reported the best performance. Among all the forty-nine prizes in seven categories, SWS Research was granted two 1st prizes, one 2nd prize, one 3rd prize, and the “Best Organization” award. The “Empirical Research on the Subject Securities and Securities Pledged as Guarantee Deposits in Margin Trading and Short Selling” by Ti Yuntao, Yuan Yingjie, and others won the first prize in the category of innovative financial products, and analyst Jiang Jianrong’s “Comparative Study on Two Management Mechanisms of the Investment Banks: In Light of the End of the Wall Street Pattern” won the third prize in the category of securities companies.

On November 27, 2009, the “New Fortune” announced the results of the “7th Best Analysts Poll” in Shenzhen. SWS Research, as a group, took the crown of the “Most Influential Research Team”, the 2nd “Best Domestic Research Team” and the 3rd “Best Sales Team”. As for the “Best Analysts” awards in thirty-one research sectors, SWS Research was granted five 1st prizes in the sectors of strategy research, agriculture, food & beverage, chemical products and medical biology, four 2nd prizes, eleven 3rd prizes, one 4th prize, one 5th prize, and the 10th “Best Sales & Service Manager” award in Beijing.


On November 18, 2009, the “Asiamoney Brokers Poll 2009” announced SWS as the 2nd “Best Broker” in the Great China Region, and the SMEs Research Department of SWS Research was granted the 1st prize. 


On April 22, 2009, SAC unveiled the appraisal results for 2008 research subjects, in which analysts from SWS Research covered three awards. Ms. Jiang Jianrong got the second prize for the writing of "the references and revelations we received from educational practice for investors in North America". "Empirical research on listed companies' stock incentive plan-substitutional explanation from the perspective of accounting noise" written by Li Rong and Yu Xuhui and "systematic research on credit rating of listed companies" produced by Zhang Rui, Qu Qing, Zhang Lei both won the third prizes. Meanwhile, Shenyin Wanguo was awarded the prize of "the excellent organizer for this campaign". 


On Jan 15, 2009, SWS Research was honorably labeled as 2008 excellent corporation in Shanghai Information Service industry by Shanghai Information Service Association. Vice general manager, Ms. Qiang Li, is prized for her outstanding contribution to Shanghai Information Service Association in 2008.


On Jan 9, 2009, All-China Federation of Trade Unions titled Mr. Yang Chengzhang in SWS Research as one of the advanced and knowledgeable talents for 2008.

on Nov.21, 2008, New Fortune Magazine announced results of the 6th Best Analyst competition . SYWG Research, as a group, was awarded the honor of the 2nd ‘ most influential research team, the 4th ‘best domestic research team’, and the 3rd ‘best sales team’. Additionally, 13 research teams or individual analysts gained the honor of ‘the best analyst’. Analysts that have research fields in fixed income, medical biology, agriculture, and food & beverage won the 1st place; strategy research team and financial engineering team won the 2nd place of ‘the best analyst’; and analysts who focus on macro economy, chemical products, petrochemical, coal mining, household appliance, paper making, and social service received the 3rd place of ‘the best analyst’.


On Nov. 14, 2008, The CapitalWeek sponsored 'the 2nd Crystal Ball Award sell-side research analyst competition', in which SYWG Research gain the first place of 'the most independent research institute'; the second place of 'the most influential research institute' and of 'the best domestic research institute'; the third place of 'the best meeting organizer' and of 'gold medal sales team'. Analysts in fields of strategies research, financial engineering, derivates research, bond research, agriculture sector, food & beverage, and medical biology won the first place of 'the Crystal Ball Award sell-side analyst'. Analysts in fields of macro economy, chemical products, and transport gained the second place of 'the Crystal Ball Award sell-side analyst'. Analysts of household appliance & luxury goods sector and of social service sector received the third place of 'the Crystal Ball Award sell-side analyst'. Analyst of coal mining sector obtained the fourth place of 'the Crystal Ball Award sell-side analyst'. In addition, SYWG North China institutional sales team gained the designation of 'gold medal sales team in Beijing area'. Moreover, Mr. Chen Xiaosheng, general manager of SYWG Research, was awarded the prize of 'Gold Medal Leader'.

January 19, 2008, In Golden Medal Analyst Competition sponsored by 21st Century Business Herald, SYWG Research won the first place of ‘the most independent research team; the second place of ‘the most influential research team’; the third place of ‘the team with most comprehensive strength’; and the second place of ‘the team most welcomed by financial media’.


In January, in the '2007 Best Analyst' competition sponsored by 'capitalweek', SYWG RESEARCH won No.1 'Most Independent Research Institute', No.1 'Most innovative Research Institute', No.2 'Best Research Team', No.2 'Best Meeting Organizer', and No.3 'Best Influential Research Institute'.

In November, in the 'Best Analyst' competition sponsored by 'New Fortune Magazine' in which 532 fund managers took part, SYWG RESEARCH continued to hold No.1 'Most Influential Research Institute', and won No.2 'Best Research Team', No.5 'Best Sales Service Team'. Mr. Chen xiaosheng, General Manager of SYWG Research, was awarded as 'outstanding leader of the securities research and consulting industry'.


In July, SW108 website was awarded "Outstanding Website" in the 3rd Shanghai Outstanding Websites competition, and was chosen as "Outstanding Service Website".


On June 8th, in the '2002 Research Themes competition' held by the Securities Association of China, SYWG RESEARCH was honored 'The Best Organization Prize'. SYWG RESEARCH's 'Construction and Empirical Research on the Macro Economic Boom Index of China' won 2nd prize of 'The Fund and Macro Environment Category'. 'Analysis and Empirical Research on the Relationship between Securities Valuation Discrepancy and Future Market Return' won the 3rd prize of 'The Security Market Operation Category'. 'Empirical Research on the Effects on the Listed Companies Originated by Merge and Acquisition' and 'Research on the Merge and Acquisition of Listed A-share Companies under the New System' won the 3rd prize of 'The Listed Companies Category' separately.


On April 21st, in the Shenzhen Stock Exchange's No.9 Research Results Appraisal among Member Entities and Fund Management Corporations', SYWG RESEARCH's 'Research on China Asset Allocation System and Construction' won the 3rd prize of 'The Investment Research Category'. 'Research on Pricing the Index Future' won the 3rd prize of 'The Market Innovation Category'. 'Research on the Sector Rotation Effect of Chinese Stock Market' won the 'Contribution to Research prize' of 'The Investment Research Category'.


On April 20th, 'SYWG RESEARCH' won 'The Outstanding Brand Competitiveness Prize' among all the distinguished Chinese Brands selected by 'The 2007 International Brands Summit Forum', which was united held by Shanghai Jiaotong University and Colombia University of American.

Ranked No.1 in '2006 securities general service evaluation' held by National Council for Social Security Fund (SSF) .


In November, in the 'Best Analyst' competition sponsored by 'New Fortune Magazine' in which 348 fund managers took part, SYWG RESEARCH continued to hold No.1 'Most Influential Research Institute', and won No.2 'Best Research Team', No.3 'Best Sales Service Team'.


In June, the party general branch at SYWG RESEARCH was awarded 'Shanghai Financial Sector's Advanced Grass-Roots Party Branch'.


In April, SYWG RESEARCH was named '2004-2005 Shanghai Youth Model (the Communist Youth Leaguer)', in the mean time was given the title 'Shanghai New Long March Shock Brigade' by the Communist Youth League Shanghai Municipal Committee.


SYWG RESEARCH's communist youth league branch was chosen by the Organizational Department under the Municipal Communist Youth League Committee as the builder of Shanghai 'May 4th Communist Youth League Branch with Distinguishing Features' in 2006.

In May, SYWG RESEARCH ranked No.1 in '2004 Listed Company Business Results Performance Forecast Ranking of Securities Research Institutions' by Shanghai Securities News.


In April, SYWG RESEARCH was named 'Online Company of Credit' in the second Shanghai Outstanding Websites (the most popular websites) and 'Creditable Online Company' competition, and its SW108 website was chosen as 'Outstanding Service Website'.

In the Shenzhen Stock Exchange's No.6 Member Research Results Appraisal, SYWG RESEARCH's 'Studies on Market Impact of Investment Behavior of Securities Investment Funds' won the 2nd prize.


In the '2004 Best Securities Analyst' competition jointly sponsored by China Securities News, CCTV 'China Securities' program and Investment Today, 2 analysts from SYWG RESEARCH won the 'Most Accurate Earnings Forecaster' title.


In May, SYWG RESEARCH's IT Information Department was awarded '2001-2003 Advanced Team in Luwan District' by Shanghai Luwan District Government.

In the '2003 Research Themes competition' held by the Securities Association of China, the SYWG RESEARCH's 'Risk Management of Interest Rate in Its Liberalization' and 'China's Index Futures Product Design and Innovation Study and Investment Opportunity Analyses' won the 2nd prize in the corporate management category and the financial product innovation category, respectively.


In the Shenzhen Stock Exchange's No.5 Member Research Results Appraisal, SYWG RESEARCH's 'Study on Intrinsic Motivation behind Equity Financing Propensity of Listed Companies in China' and 'Study on Stock Price Reactions to Annual Report Forecasts of Listed Companies' both won the 2nd prize; its 'Study on Multi-Factor Valuation Model of Relative Intrinsic Value of Stocks¡ªEmpirical Research of A Shares on Shanghai and Shenzhen Stock Exchanges' won the 3rd prize.


The research theme 'Study on Impact of Securities Market with Chinese Features on Compilation of Stock Price Index' was awarded 'Outstanding Achievement under Joint Research Plan of the Shanghai Stock Exchange' by the Shanghai Stock Exchange.


In April, SYWG RESEARCH was named the advanced company in Shanghai's fifth 'Learning Knowledge, Learning Science, Learning Technology' campaign.


In April, SYWG RESEARCH's former chairman Zhuang Dongchen was officially awarded 'National Labor Medal for Model Worker' by China General Trade Union.


In January, SYWG RESEARCH was awarded 'Best Content Editing Prize of All E-Commerce Websites' in the first Shanghai 'Mobile Dream Cup Competition' jointly sponsored by Shanghai Internet Information Service Association, Shanghai Information Office and 'Modern IT Magazine'.

In the '2002 Research Themes competition' held by the Securities Association of China, SYWG RESEARCH's 'Study on Securities Holding Group's Models in China' won the 2nd prize under the category of company business earnings model studies.


In the Shenzhen Stock Exchange's No.4 Member Research Results Appraisal, SYWG RESEARCH's 'Study on Shanghai/Shenzhen Stock Market Liquidity' won the 1st prize; its 'Analyses on Accumulated Abnormal Earnings by Listed Companies' Stock Allotment on Shanghai/Shenzhen Stock Market' won the 2nd prize; its 'China's Index Futures Product Design and Innovation Study and Investment Opportunity Analyses' won the 3rd prize.


In June, SYWG RESEARCH Party General Branch was awarded 'Shanghai Financial Sector's Advanced Grass-Roots Party Branch in 2002'.
